Patina Miller
Miller played the role of lead actor in Stephen Schwartz's famous 1972 musical "Pippin" which ran on Broadway. Produced by Tony Award-winning Director Diane Paulus, and also starring Matthew James Thomas, Andrea Martin and Terrence Mann, "Pippin" received the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical at the 67th Annual Tony Awards. Patina has successfully put a new turn to a character created by the award-winning actor Ben Vereen. She was able to master the Fosse motions that the show relies so heavily on. Patina's performance won her an Tony Award in the category of Best Actress, Lead Role Musical. The Outer Critics Circle Award was also given in recognition of Outstanding Actress. From December 2012 to Jan. 2013, she played the Leading Player of the American Repertory Theater's production of Pippin. Miller made her Broadway debut in the 2011 Broadway season as the gutsy nightclub-singer-turned-nun "Deloris Van Cartier" in the stage adaptation of "Sister Act", which earned her first Tony nomination, as well as Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for her performance.
