Zachary Galifianakis

Zachary Knight Galifianakis Greek pronunciation (born October 1, 1969): American comedian, musician, comedian, and writer. He appeared on the Comedy Central Presents special and presented his show Late World with Zach on VH1. Galifianakis was in several films such as The Hangover trilogy (2009-2013), Due Date (2010) and The Campaign (2012). He also appeared in Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance (2014) as well as Masterminds (2016). Galifianakis voiced characters in animated films such as Puss In Boots (2011) and The Lego Batman Movie (2017). He has also voiced Missing Link (2019) and Ron's Gone wrong (2211). Galifianakis is currently host of the comedy show Between Two Ferns, with Zach Galifianakis. Galifianakis appeared in the FX series Baskets. He was nominated in 2017 for the Primetime Emmy Award as Outstanding Lead Actor in Comedy Series. Zachary Knight Galifianakis was a native of Wilkesboro, North Carolina on October 1st 1970. His mother is an English-Irish and Scottish and his paternal grandparents are Greek immigrants from Crete. He was baptized according to the Greek Orthodox faith of his father. He has Merritt and a younger sister and Greg, a brother older than him. The cousin Nick Galifianakis is a Washington Post cartoonist and his uncle Nick Galifianakis is also a politician. Galifianakis was a student at Wilkes Central High School, and subsequently attended North Carolina State University, where he majored in communications. He worked as radio operator at an accessible public station while in college. He taught a waltz class in 1991 and he came into contact with Mary J. Blige. Galifianakis was one of the Saturday Night Live host for two weeks following his TV debut at Boston Common. He has stated "I participated for Saturday Night Live for two weeks. Britney Spears was host for one week while I was there. I wrote a sketch. Will Ferrell was to be her bodyguard in her belly button. We planned to shrink Will to look like a belly button. After I explained the idea to her, she just looked at the sketch. Then she said, "Yeah that is funny." Galifianakis played Out Cold's star as well as playing small roles in Below, Bubble Boy, Heartbreakers and Into the Wild.
